Im trying to return to AC and I currently reactivated my account. Log in and update and get all the way to character selection screen and select my character and go to log in. I can see my backpack all the action slots and everything but I seem to get stuck in portal space. I live in a apartment complex where each room has there own wall plug for internet. I do have Windows Vista and idea on what I could do? I played a few months ago with no problems. Any Suggestions would be great thanks a lot!

It may be a vista problem, as many people have issues with vista, AC, and their anti-virus/firewall programs. Do you get all the way to the screen with your bags, and the viewer is just dark?

I have Vista and had issues getting it to run. I would get all the way to the 'pick a character' screen, then it would look like it was going to let me in and would just hang there with the main screen black. I could see the side panel, but none of the packs were showing up.


First off, don't install AC in the default directory. Use something like: C:\GAMES\Asherons Call.


Second, make sure your AV program doesn't conflict with the game. I was using AVG and had to completely remove any AV program, otherwise it wouldn't let me get IG.


Third, I had to open ports 9000-9030 on my router (I had to forward those ports to my local computer).


Once I did all that, I was able to get IG.

What do mean by AV and AVG how do I check for this? and How do you tell what ports you need to open?

AV = Anti-Virus software

AVG = Free Anti-Virus software program
