Which is better, the 24dmg multi-strike or 52dmg non multi-strike?

From what I have heard, if dual wielding the multi is slightly better. SLIGHTLY. If single wielding, then the single strike is slightly better. If both have major or epic bloodthirst and go more than two points over max, the multi strike starts to pass the single strike. So 26 or better multi beats 54 single. Thats what the math wizzes on the turbine boards claim anyway. YMMV.
