Hello everyone,

I am in need of some advice, I am looking for a MMORPG to play... I have went back and look at AC, Warhammer, WoW, AC2, I mean I just keep looking and for some reason I keep ending back up on the DAoC site. I dont know if that means something or not. I used to play DAoC years and years ago before trials of alantis....a long time. I am totally lost when I look at their website due to the fact that I just havnt been around.

I am looking to get back into it, but I know nothing and I am wondering if it will be like the old ways. I have a couple of questions I hope you guys can help me with.

How many servers are there now?

Are the severs full or empty?

If I start over am I going to be able to find a group to PvE with it PvP at lower lvl?

I miss the old BGs, do they still have them?

If you also have some server/guild information help me out. I would love to be able to find a full or VERY helpful guild, just to get me back into it and help me with my really dumb questions...

Thanks guys and I hope to see ya if I join back in.

There's one main server these days called Ywain.
It has a very healthy population at all hours.
You won't likely find low level PvE groups because it's very fast to level solo now. You can generally find groups in the BGs starting in Thidranki (levels 20-24).
Thidranki is a lot like the BGs you remember. The other active BG is Molvik (levels 35-39) which I like better due to it not having the moat and bridges. There are BGs at all other levels up to level 49 but not much PvP goes on in them. They are good places to level though due to the xp bonuses in RvR zones. In the last patch Mythic also added some repeatable quests in some BGs that reward you with aurulite, a currency that can be used to purchase decent gear.

Ok, thanks for the information. So pretty much I solo grin to lvl 20ish then go into the first BG. Is there still dungeons like catacombs and stuff like that. Do people still group up and grind in there? For some reason I remember Avalon City, or do people do pvp lvling only?

The aurulite quests that were mentioned apply in the level 10-14 BG, the level 15-19 BG, and the level 20-24 BG.

Since they hand out about 2.5 bubbles per go, it makes sense to hit the BG's starting at level 10.

Note that you can frequently get groups in all three of those BG's right now.

Welcome back.

I can't share any advice that is alb specific - because I never played alb. But, I will say that it might be a good idea to spend time in the battle grounds. Of course, they are not a true reflection of end game RvR - but many of the mechanics are the same.

In the battle grounds is where I made quite a few friends by just being social and including as many people in my groups as possible - regardless of class / spec. Those friendships can pay off when it comes to make that push to 50, get templates and having some regular people to group with in RvR.

EDIT: pushed the 'post' button too soon.

i migrated to ywain from the german servers,
population is very nice, leveling is very easy and fast.
i leveled my fist character via task dungeons and the later ones at rassas (ml encounter in toa)
molvik is almost never empty, i spend a lot of time there.

welcome back and enjoy the game
