I installed dark age, couldn't get the patcher to work. Wound up downloading the patcher off of the internet and updated to 1.56. however the client still wont function properly, can not connect to download servers or some such. usual downloader trouble. Can anyone assist me in sorting this out specifically? To say, they didnt manipulate it into needing ToA installed do you???

Dont know why you are having any trouble, except that it sounds like you are installing from a disk. You should be downloading and installing the game from the official site, as the patcher servers have changed and the old install files point to a non-existant server.

The Camelot Herald should be your first and foremost source of information about DAoC, though ALOT of other sites include information that the Herald omits or has old links for.

Long ago Mythic upgraded all accounts to LotM and all Xpacs are free to install (all Xpacs MUST be installed). Once installed all a player needs to do is pay the monthly sub fee.
