Long load times normal?

I just activated my 14 day free trial. I then tried to find which Ywain server my toons were on (copied them over when the servers merged), but several of the servers I attempt to load never come up. The game just sits there forever. Is this normal? Problems with my characters?

Maybe if the characters were logged out in a zone which no longer is active (e.g. most of them on the archived servers). If this is the case, you'd need a CSR.
