I am dying for an mmo experience like Daoc. I played from release for years and had the time of my life. I had many personal issues along with work etc. forcing me to quit playing and well I just never came back. I have heard many bad things about the state of the game yet most people seem to always have something good to say aswell. I have long since lost my account info (no I did not sell it) so I would have to start fresh (all characters would be gone anyway). So I guess what I'm asking is this. Is there still enough light and hope within this game to reinvigorate an old vet? I'd have to start from scratch with nothing and no guild. Would it be a rough road for me to find others to game with? I guess more simply, should i jump back in or just let the old dream die? Thanks in advance for any helpful replies. Pardon my wall of text.

The game is thriving with action at all times of the night and day. since the comonation of the euro servers and the Cluster of all servers into one ( Ywain ) the action has been very good sometimes better than it was on lancelot or merlin servers. Though it has lost alot of its grind. you no longer have to do ML's or Artifact quests to get the ToA gear instead they have this currency called Glass and you can buy the ML steps and Artifacts with that.

If you can get over the fact that DAOC is in Maitenance mode i think you will have a good ole time. just a bit of learning and you will be back to Eating Rps for dinner.

Sounds very tempting...I was never a big fan of ToA. How hard do you think it would be to find a guild as a fresh starter? One of my favorite memories was bg's and open rvr with a small group using ventrillo to communicate tactics.

Game has a 14 day free trial.. so the best way to answer your questions is to just try that.

If you can remember your account info then your toons are still there unless you deleted them. Mythic doesn't delete old toons.
