So I just came back to the game yesterday and I am told I need to farm glass/scales to get new age competitive gear. What class on albion would be best for farming these days?

I have a 50 friar, pally, cabby, infil, scout and a cleric bot.

Thx

Use the Friar + Cleric or Paladin + Cleric and kill master afrits. It's fairly easy once you know what you're doing and they're worth several plat per kill on average.

For farming glass the scout+cleric or cabby+cleric will far outstrip any of the other combos you have.

And for the "dragon" scales (Dragonslayer armor and weapons - the slayer armor and weapon are 150 per armor piece, and 500 scales for the weapon.. buy a stone from the merchant in Camelot, and trade it in dartmoor - just make sure you do the one quest at the entrance guy to the dartmoor city first hehe... else guards will attack you), I think the lvl 70 Xanxicarian Sentry mobs (guards) at the Xanxicar entrance in Avalon City, with your cabby (if ml9 - if not, gonna be a bit harder, but then again all the mobs in avalon city drops scales, so just go for something else if these are too hard) would be the best.. since the mobs in dartmoor just chain stuns you..

Well I found the entrance I mention worked the best (and fastest -they drop UP TO 7 scales per kill, but sometimes none.. same thing for the nasty ones in Dartmoor) with my ml9 sorc and a charmed pet from inside the city.. They dont do any special tricks, only melee and sometimes stand there using their bow.. but thats easy to interrupt.

Good luck with it =)
