it'll work, but, it'll be like a chugging train going up the side of a mountain.
Most likely only could be used for a BOT, or, in very low res PVE.. don't think you
can RvR with it at all. Just due to the graphics card.

I know some that DAoC with a laptop as their 'main'. I don't know how they do it but it doesn't seem to hinder them.
I have an Alienware MX17 with Xfire 5870's. It certainly would play DAoC well, but it's simply easier to play on a PC. And I never game while traveling,so meh.

Full-on laptops have gaming hardware well above DAoC's specs, so that's not a surprise. Netbooks are a whole different animal, usually the lowest end of graphics cards, barely any memory, and a processor typically topping out at 1.66ghz. Doable probably, but as said, you'd probably have to go low resolution (I think the screen on netbooks has crap resolution anyway) and on top of it you'd probably have to put spell effects to group or lower, and char models to pre-catacombs to even pass your border keep.

You can most definately do it, at least, I assume you can. I've seen videos on youtube of people getting World of Warcraft working on netbooks, iPhones and iPads. Granted, the game didn't run very clean even at the lowest settings. So can DAOC run on a netbook, I'm pretty sure it could. However, as someone mentioned, it may only be feasable as a buffbot if you don't want to dual account on the same machine. Oh, and if you do it. I'd watch my bot, he might lag behind and lose AF.

It will probably be able to run, but poorly.
For a long time, my bot ran on a 1.6ghz Vaio with 1gb of DDR1 ram, shared graphics memory. Couldn't do Labyrinth, and I never tried to PvP on it. But it ran reliably except in huge zergs or swarms of theurg pets, as long as I kept spell effects off.

I've got a Vaio netbook with 2G of RAM and a 1.66 GHz processor and it runs but not great. It's suitable for crafting, mild farming, and mundane tasks like that but it sucks horribly for RvR or any place that has a lot of stuff going on.

It takes a lot of nails to build a crib, but just one screw to fill it.
Everywhere is walking distance if you have enough time.

Yeah, I never used mine for RvR or anything crazy. TG/Sidi raids were about the biggest thing it was ever subjected to, and Labyrinth (which took 15 minutes to load, but was fine once it was inside).
