So I've been playing uthgard off and on but haven't played daoc since classic was the most populated cluster. My main issue is that on a fresh install I get nonstop BSODs even though on the same computer with a sepaprate install I can play Uthgard all day without a single BSOD.

Any suggestions on how I can play live without the BSOD issues?

I've been browsing the templates in the mid caster forums to figure out gear. It doesn't look like the "good" temps have changed much. However the top end temps do appear to have gotten quite a bit better. Is this true?

I will answer the Later questions for you.


1. WhAt is dragon glass - is not called Dragon glass, it's called Atlantean Glass and can be farmed in the Atlantis zones off of every mob, the .10 mobs drop more than others but MObs such as Rassa, and colossal are the most popular mobs to get the glass from. Along with the glass comes "Essense of Afrit" Collect 5 of these and combine them and they form a reformed afrit which can be turned into a NPC in Toa for Glass, and other items, These drop from elementals that wonder the zones, most popular zone for all of this is stygia.

Now with that said, you also have a new currency in the main lands called Scales, they drop in the Dragon Zones, SI zones, and in the frontier and can be turned in for a NUMBER of things in the main cities, these items include all Dragon items. Now there are Souls that drop in places like Caer Sidi, Galladoria, and Tuscarean Glacier that can be used for items in those zones as well.


The Epic armor has been updated to Toa stats, the Dragonslayer Armor is some of the best and can be BOUGHT with scales, and then you have the Overpowered Astral ML10 BS items that hit harder than the actualy player does.

Farming glass and scales doable or practical solo or duo then?

BSOD sounds like a driver issue... anyway no program on a modern day OS should be able to bring down the entire OS.. try updating your gfx/audio drivers and do a windows update. Definately not a DAoC issue, although it does trigger it in your case.


Wild guess... nVidia gfx card on WinXP?

yes scales are very soloable, at the entrance to each dragon zone(dartmoor, Malamous, Sheeroe hills) there are green mobs that drop scales, most people just farm those.


Glass is soloable, but tougher, if ya know how to kyte/kite you can kill colossal pretty easy. Also check the housing market glass is all over there

daoc is pretty intensive on your cpu/video, especialy if they are lower grade ;p..more physical ram usualy hepls ..since its cheap.
