After a very long absence from DAOC i have been giving thought to coming back,

but we are talking something like a 5-6 year absence...


and of course I've been around since leaving:


WOW = sucks, always has, always will (IMO!, don't go all nerd rage if you disagree, its not a religion, its a game)

Aion = just not for me

Warhammer = meh, I thought it was 'OK' it just lacks something...

Age of Conan = lol... perhaps if they focused more on the game and less on tits it might be ok

and countless F2P games which are ok for passing time but not worth long term investment.


All in all i have always kept daoc in my mind as the true king, and my favorite without a doubt.

Problem is, everyone whom i use to know and play beside are long gone both enemy & ally, which means basically means i will be a new player, but not a new player coming back (no what i mean?) I am ALL ALONE!!! O DEARRR!

I want to come back and was looking for some player feedback on the game state today...

It will be a blast for you,for a few weeks,then u start to realize alot of problems,one of the biggest being,

mythic doesnt care about the player base or improving the game.


I get frustrated because I pay to play and they cant do simple things that would improve game enjoyment ten fold.


Here are some questions I had on an earlyier thread and noone from mythic can answer any;


1-Is mythic in maintenance mode or is mythic looking into some possible options according to feasibility.


2-Is a new server of any type possible in the near future??


3-Is mythic going to continue working on lag issue's --OR-- does mythic believe the lag issue's have been resolved.


4-Is char COPY'S from Ywain to Mordred are in the works --OR-- Char COPY'S from ywain to mordred are not possible in the near future.


5-Relic's are still a good enough reason to take keeps,but what about DF??


---(Relic's AND DF) used the be the heart of the game---,

now it seems like people just log into the winning side to play(realm pride is gone).


Sooo,how about allowing 2 realms in at all times and/or make diamond seals buy dragon loot and/or

mabye re-itemize the loot and make the new loot desirable in Df for templates.


6-Is Mythic working on,making champ xp obtainable with bounty points(mlxp is,why not champ xp). --OR-- This is not possible in the near future.


7-Is Mythic working on putting npc buffers in the BG's --OR-- This is not possible in the near future.


8-Is Mythic working on putting npc buffers in pve dungeons and/or in open pve area's. --OR-- This is not possible in the near future.


9-Is Mythic working on advertising the game again --OR-- This is not possible in the near future.


10-Is Mythic working on Char COPY'S from Glamorgan to Ywain are in the works --OR-- Char COPY'S from Glamorgan to Ywain are not possible in the near future!!


11-Is new frontiers the last frontiers we are going to see or is old frontiers and/or a new new frontiers in the works(with less water and/or much faster boat travel times).


12-Can the amount of people that are needed to claim keeps on mordred be changed since the population is so low,

mabye have it so it can be claimed with 2 people,towers can be claimed with one person. --OR-- This is not possible in the near future.


Free free to add anything important about the games future or just comment on what I have concern's with...

Your best bet is to come back and try playing in Thridranki and Molvik. Newbies are vastly more likely to get groups there than in NF. Plus you'll have a whole lot less pve to do to put together a decent template.

RvR is pretty good...with the clustering there is kind of "around the clock" action. I mean, it's not like INSANE, but for the time it's definitely not bad. Try it out and see. I also wouldn't be surprised at ALL if you saw a lot of your old buddies still playing! You'd be surprised is my guess....

2000 BP are one Champlevel. You need to buy 20 100 bp XP Scrolls at the BP Merchant. The XP scrolls are not tradeable.

Subjectively speaking yes, those games are not as good as DaoC was.

Then again, neither is DaoC now.


Those games all have the potential to evolve and improve (like AoC has for example).

DaoC does not, bug fixes and patches are practically non-existant and if like me, you can't be arsed waiting for mythic to fix their subs page, it's simply not worth the effort anymore.

At the time i played all the bg's were pretty much solo chaos, rarely any group formation.

It was just a push to X rlms keep, or a big bridge/keep fight, that change now?


The problem i am facing is that all my bg characters & 50's are already templated out, with maybe a few artis to lvl on one of the 50's, but other then that they are done...


I do not need any pve play (unless new content was added i am unaware of).


When i left, it was a big push for the new dragon armor (which i got on a few characters) then left.


basically what i am trying to say is, is the community worth coming back to? or will i just be standing around yelling LFG for 2hours...

That Warrior is probably Akdave

And the game has 2k primetime for a reason. It's a shell of what it once was. It's in failsafe mode right now and hasn't really even been updated, just more useless crap that they need to hotfix a bunch of times and still not fix whatever the problem was even though it wasn't a problem before they started fucking with it.
