Have monitor with 1680x1050 resolution and replaces with a monitor having 1920x1080

Though the new monitor is recognized, the real estate is not being fully used on the new monitor though it's at the correct resolution resulting in a black border surrounding the "window" on the display.

There are no drivers for the monitor from the OEM.

Anyone have a suggestion? I have tried to adjust the aspect from the monitor's menu system to no avail.

I dont believe you need drivers for the monitor. But it might be a setting in the vid card drivers. Desktop resolution would need to be the same as in-game. Maybe if there is a zoom feature on your monitor as well. I dont even know if Daoc goes to that high of a resolution.

Im thinkin like on TV. If your aspect ratio of the tv is different than the broadcast, you get black bars. Then you need to zoom in to get rid of them.

DAOC handles 1920X1080 or 1920X1200 just fine. Check the settings on the Options menu you can access from the character screen.

You also need to right click on your desktop, click on Properties, and then the Settings tab and make sure your monitor is set to 1920X1080 as well.

Do you have an ATI video card? ATI cards will sometimes assume a 1920x1080 resolution is connected to a tv and will underscan the resolution. This will create the black border you are describing. I think a lot of users unknowingly compensate for this by zooming on their tv/monitor controls which is really just upscaling a lower resolution.

The UI design of the catalyst control center is staggering in its awfulness for where AMD hid control of this setting. Open catalyst control center and make sure it is running in advanced mode. From the graphics drop down in the top left select "Desktops & Displays". Now here is the asinine part. In the window the larger top-center portion of the screen represents your desktop settings, the lower portion are the monitor settings. From the monitor settings, select your monitor and click the tiny, tiny, tiny downward pointing triangle in the top right had corner. The triangle is a drop down menu, select "Configure" from the menu. Now choose the "Scaling Options" tab and set the slider to 0% and that should fix your problem.
