DAoC could come back but it would need some effort and risk taking.
But I think that even with small budget game could be made more attractive for new and old players.
Like so many others have posted their opinions, here are mine
1. Remove 10-20% of utilites, spells, styles etc.
-- game has received many expansions, patches, fixes, balancing etc. Remove some of the stuff and make the code and game less hassle.
* not make it too simple but even taking something away can be a good thing
* might even help the programmers in future
2. "Fix" Herald -site.
3. Include on that site:
-- up to date explanation of spells, styles, procs etc.
-- instructions for classes (what is their role in pve and rvr, what is expected in groups etc)
* Time consuming task and maybe could be done by players and put to site after inspection (free playtime for authors?)
4. Change ML's so that players can train for both lines (or even more, like CL's)
* Don't know if it easy to code but if it was it could perhaps bring something new to old players also
