Main hand independent. It means your template is capped, or close to it, without the main hand weapon so that you can use any weapon you want to maximize proc effects.

It means that the template does not require any specific stats from the main hand weapon. In other words you can swap in whatever weapon you like into the main hand.

i've always hated the acronym... because the first choice of someone reading it in the acronym rolodex in our heads is "main hand included" which of course is wrong and easily determined as evidenced by looking at the template...

still i would prefer the acronyms

MHL (main hand lacking)
MHM (main hand missing)
MHN (main hand needed)

How do you figure 'included' would be the first thing to come to mind? If it were included, then there wouldn't be an acronym for it since weapon included was the standard which required differentiating from.

if those were only 2 choices i would be inclined to agree

but is there no such thing as an off hand or shield template that can swap to 2handed?

there are no completely weaponless templates?

simply the fact that there are many templates w/o MH weapons (or weapons at all) that exist opens the opportunity for a main hand included template...

and of course it comes alphabetically before independent

the fact the possibility exists opens it up for misinterpretation...the substitute acronyms i listed don't have that flaw at a glance
