I just wanted to report (if it matters much anymore) that I cannot get DAOC to install, nor update my current client.

My current install is faily old (from the 5yr dvd plus some updates). I have tried updating, but it tells me it cannot contact the server, then provides and outdated link to patches.

I tried reinstalling from the 5 year DVD, and again, it cannot contact the update server.

I tried downloading the full client from the site. When it goes to extract, it sad "Some installation files are corrupt and to download again (i've downloaded it like 3 or 4 times) When i open it in WinRAR, i get "DAoCSetup.exe: Unexpected end of archive"

I know this game pretty much as have a torso in the grave at this point, but i was just curious about it, but i cant seem to even get to a login screen

Just wanted to report

If it helps. Im running Windows 7 64-bit. I have attempted to run in Compatibility mode, no success.

i recently downloaded and installed just fine.

as do many others.

the corruption of the installer is probly due to a download manager, firewall, anti-virus program, or network card drivers, screwing up the checksum information in the file wich ends up reporting it as a bad file when its tried to run/extract.

Ok.. downloaded the installer from another computer, and it installed ok. But now im having problems patching. It gets done with the first bar (the check i think) then when it starts to patch, i get this error.

"The patch client encountered corruption in the file [base/unpacked/e8e7462b1730d566] on the remote server. Please try the patch operation again."

Ive tried re-patching three times. Same result.

Alright, i somehow managed to fix it by running the cametest and patching that, then patching the live client. That seemed to do the trick.
