Client crashing as I enter West Skona. Bot and main were on a horse there, both clients crashed at the exact same spot and now I can't log back in. Client just dissapears as I enter the game. Anyone else had this?

That sometimes happens because the file that contains information for that zone has become corrupted. Maybe if you let the patcher do a complete file check, the patcher will compute checksums and fix the problem. In the old days, CSRs could look up the zone and tell you which file had gone bad. You could then rename or delete the file and the patcher would download a fresh copy. Maybe CSRs can still do that. If not, you could try reinstalling DAOC.

YEah, I'm guessing the zone files are corrupt. I Don't know how to have the patcher scan the folder tho, and I'd like to just delete the zone and redownload it, but I can't seem to figure out which file to delete.

In the game folder are files called


errorlog

and

debug


Check in those to see if there is some reference to a zone file that fails to load.

The errorlog is blank post crash, which is fun. And I really don't feel like re-installing seeing as I've got to re-download the entire client.

And the first thing I did when I downloaded the game was copy it to my external hd, and so I've tried replacing a lot of the folders now in hopes of having the problem dissapear, though unfortunately it's still there and now I'm eagerly awaiting an appeal response. I suppose they could move my characters out of Skona, but that leaves me without any DS gear. There's nothing quite like troubleshooting on a saturday eve, gotta love it.
