Why does my returning character suck

So heres the deal. My 2 buddies and I played religiously when the game came out. We just decided to return to the game after about a 5-6 year break and our characters suck. Our stealther classes were all very well geared when we left and now cannot do any damage or take any hits against ANY class. We are being told that the weapon dmg cap is still 16.5 so how are we only hitting for 200 (-150) no matter if its a Tank or a Caster?? Our resists our still high around 26% and our HPs are almost near the 2000 mark so why cant we take hits either?
Please give me the full rundown. Appreciate the help

The utility on gear around nowadays is so much higher than 5 years ago. You can build a much better template both stats- and proc/toy wise. A 5 year old set just isn't enough to compete anymore. 
That said, getting geared is now easier than ever.
Also, are you properly buffed?

Compare your template to something on your class boards. Nowadays templates have everything capped, including ToA's, with better weapons and better armor procs.
Also, your hits will go up with Champion levels.

Yea i have a 50 BBot, so i believe the buffs are fine.
Okay, and i know this prob a dumb question but is everything crafted? Like i said i started again yesterday and cant wait to get the hang of it all again, but i dont really know/remember anything. I played wow for a bit a while back and cant stand PvE for gear drops.
Also, whats a good site for gear builds. I know there used to be some where u could max out your stats.
I really appreciate the help!

Yeah seriously getting killed 3v1 is NOT getting zerged down. Not by a long shot. Take some Xanax and /release.
