i am running windows7, and have always had to run vent as an admin in order for it to work properly. one day, after being in vent for a while, my mic randomly stopped transmitting sound. i could hear, but couldnt speak. i never ever ever changed any settings once i got it working (it took an hour or so of troubleshooting to initially get vent working properly). this is when i started asking in game for help. everything i have done since has been suggested by someone else, as i have no idea what im doing. so, i reinstalled my sound card drivers. i then tried to test it, and vent stopped responding when i hit my PTT key. so, i changed PTT key, rebooted, same problem. then i reinstalled vent. same problem. i am ready to, quite literally, 'office space' this computer. im about as computer savvy as a 7 year old, and this is getting too frustrating to bear. please, for the love of all that is holy, help

updating this to help others, all i had to do was uncheck 'play key clicks' and make sure directsound was enabled in the vent setup. just tested it, so far it works again!

Run Vent as an administrator (even if you are logged into one).Then try it again.

*shrugs* Mumble is a much better program than Vent. Much better sound quality, much less need to tinker and tune, nowhere near as bloated, and uses less bandwidth. Oh, and you won't snub people running different OSes.

but you'll also not be able to use it 90% of the time because the defacto standard is Vent or TS, not many people use more then just those.
