Choosing a class. I am looking for a class that is melee but can also cast when comes to defending keeps and such. I recently came back so I only know of Valewalker atm, but is there any other class that can melee well and cast?

I'm not currently playing, but the Thane was one of my favorite classes and assume it should still be decent I hope (they've had their ups and downs with balancing). Melee class with chain armor and shield that can cast thunder and lightning bolts and has some self buffs. May not have been the most powerful class, but was always a fun class to play.

Heretic is a really fun class to play in keep defense and while they're no Friar, they hold their own

Try a vamp.
is what you must of ment to say..
because he says he wants to be able to cast from the keep walls...
Vamp doesnt exactly count for that...
but thanes and heretics do.
