Ok, returning player here, have not played since the end of TOA.

I cannot seem to get a definitive answer from anybody about the ways that you can get your dragonslayer armor/weapon.

I read on the official Camelot site how you USED to be able to get it (when the actual event was happening)

but that information seems to be useless now.

Somebody told me you could do a quest chain to get the entire set.

somebody else told me you can buy the set with glass? yet another said you can buy it with scales?

so how exactly does it work?

The quests are still available, but I believe need to be repeated for each piece, so aren't all that popular.

You used to be able to buy the tokens needed to complete the quests with glass, but some time back they changed the required currency from glass to scales. So now you go to the appropriate merchant in your realms main city and buy the tokens using scales. Then hand in the tokens in the dragon zones to get your armor/weapon.

Note: You need to be lvl 50 to use the tokens.

There are two ways to get your Dragonslayer armor/weapon.

1) Quests.

Completing the quest for the 'mini dragons' gives you a token which you can exchange for your Dragonslayer armor.

Completing the quest for the 'main dragon' gives you a token which you can exchange for your Dragonslayer weapon.

2) Scales.

Mobs in the dragon zones as well as some dragon-related mobs elsewhere (such as SI dungeons) drop a new currency which you can exchange for armor/weapons/dragon drops at the appropriate vendor.

I know this is a copy/paste from an older post, for a guy with a similar problem. Also this is targeted for Hibernia, but the steps are the same, except alb dont have the armor-NPC at entrance to the city inside the dragon-zone (Hes a bit further inside with the other NPCs)

Im talking about the dragon scales for this one, not glass - glass cant be traded for dragonslayer armor or weapon, its for MLs and Artifact credit. Scales can be farmed in f.ex. Avalon City (SI dungeons in all realms) in alb, and all the realms' dragon-zones.

Here's the older post. In short hes asking how and where to get the 2 dragonslayer armorpieces he needed:
---------------------------------------------------------------
If you are talking about the dragonslayer armor, you have to buy two stones for 150 scales each (Last page on merchant -think its the white stone..Slayer weapon is the purple stone for 500 scales)

Then go visit the lurikeen standing at the entrance to the city in dragonzone, all up north. You must have neutral faction, else
guards will attack you, but you can get neutral by doing 1 or 2 quests at the tall firbie near the bindstone, outside the city.

When you return and talk to the luri, he offers you armor pieces in trade for the stones. Accept this, and he will take them from your inventory, 1 by 1.

Click on the armor piece you want, and voila.. you got it. Then do this for the next piece.

Hope this little guide is understandable, else Ill try and explain a bit better =)

Forgot to add, that the NPC you buy the dragonslayer armor/weapon stones from, is the same as in the "old days" (Which is in the capital city in all realms). Price for 1 armor piece is 150 dragon scales (900 for all 6 pieces), if you dont feel like doing all the quests, and 500 if you want a dragonslayer weapon (similar to the champion weapon). Sorry if I make it sound n00bish hehe.. Personally I found that Dartmoor in Alb is the most complicated place to farm scales, because those mobs chain-stun from range, when you want to focus-pull them down hehe.. but then there's Avalon City which is the easiest of the SI dungeons to handle IMO.. ml9 pet with Xanxicar mobs are pretty fast to beat down, and they are straight melee (and bow).

500 scales can usually be bought for 8ish plat in housing (hibernia), if you dont feel like farming for hours solo hehe..

I also made a sheet for Master Levels, as mentioned, you can buy with Atlantean Glass, which can be farmed from lots of different mobs in TOA.. but the best I found, are the colossal mobs (ML 4.x) in Stygia/Delta zone if you can handle those.. drops 200 glass cache each.

Here's the link for how much glass is needed for ML1-10 (in case you make new chars)

http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/3612/zigbeemlsheet.jpg

So to sum it up:
Dragon scales can buy you dragonslayer armor/weapon, if you dont feel like questing.

Atlantean Glass (introduced later in game), is for Master Levels (Credit + mlxp) and Artifact credit.

Feel free to ask again

So Boxy, when you say that the quests are still there do I just do them exactly as specified on the official DAOC website?

It says i gotta do some quests for a cloak, then some more for a medal of some sort, then i do the final ones for the armor pieces, then another for the weapon?

or have they changed from what is on the website?

Just kinda trying to figure out where to start and what i need to do to get the items through questing

To get the armor/weapons via questing:

1. Get "friendly" faction for the mobs in the city in the dragon zone. Neutral only lets you inside. You need "friendly" to use Channeler. If you can't use Channeler to port there or away then you're not "friendly".

2. Do all the quests from the NPCs (at least once) in the dragon zone which will help with your faction. Some quests are repeatable - those are faction quests. One of the Mid faction quests requires you to get back and forth to Aegir, so having a guild will help so you can return to your guild house and then port back to the bindstone in the dragon city. Took me about 15 porting quests to get friendly on one of my toons.

ps: To get neutral you just need to do the first quest from the NPC at the bindstone which was very easy on Mid - kill 3 green mobs - and I was able to get the quest on L 40 alts.

3. Eventually you'll get a quest to kill Yar/Moran/not sure hib name - decent groups can do this.

4. Return back to the city - get next quest to kill the Mini-Dragons. The Mid quest mob does not light up with the yello circle and I'm not sure if same Alb/Hib, but it's the Dragonslayer NPC which is apart from other NPCs (at least in Mid).

5. After Kill Minis = free armor.

6. Get quest to kill the Big 3 - which is all 3 dragons which need to be summoned. Wait for a BG for this. Get free weapon.

On related note:

To get the Dragon Myths and Legends quest you need to have finished the Armor stuff THEN talk to the NPC who sells the dragon loot in your capital city. (Mid is Brohd).

THEN go on ML 10 raid and get your free Dragon Mythirian - this quest is also repeatable, so be sure to grab it after completion.

You can also skip the whole questing and just buy/farm 900 scales for all the armor and 500 more for the weapon. I think you can get the Mythirian quest regardless of how you got the armor.

You are better off farming scales.

Not many people run dragon raids anymore.

You will not need all 6 pieces of armor + weapon. It's likely that you'll use maybe 2 pieces of armor. The weapon is has Champ weapon stats so you probably don't need it.

I can farm 150+ scales (1 piece of armor) per hour with a low RR hunter. So maybe 2 hours for a less than ideal PvE toon.

Also, 150 scales should only cost you about 3p max (on mid).
