So this has been happening for a while now,
I use the ~ (tilde) key to pan my camera as I'm either auto-running or stuck to someone. I think the in game keyboard settings is fps default.
The question I have is on 2 out of 3 of my computers panning does not work. I works on my main computer, but on my laptop and secondary desktop it does not work. It works just fine when I am stopped, but not while running in any form.
Tried usb and ps/2 keyboards, tried different operating systems. The only real difference I see is that my main computer has had DAOC on the hard drive since LoTM release and the other two are full downloads from darkageofcamelot.com
Any ideas?

If you have snapback enabled, it will reset camera view as soon as you let go of the key.

It is not snapback since it does not pan when running at all, it only does when I am stopped.
The /keyboard is exactly the same on all 3 computers. Pan Camera is "Tilde" on all 3. Snapback set to off on all 3.

my wifes pc had this problem with DAoC, i copied the user.dat from my good computer and onto hers and it fixed the problem, i suggest you do the same.
Copy the user.dat and keyboard.dat from the working pc to the non working one, daoc wise
edit: not the user.dat and keyboard.dat from the installed daoc directory, but the files from the c:\documents and settings\????\local blah blah blah one

Ok copying keyboard.dat fixed it.
There must be a glitch somewhere in the download only version vs the old LOTM version that has been patched for 4 years. Weird that complete file check wouldn't find it.
Problem solved thnx.
