Nah, you can only activate one acct per credit card every 24 hours!

Yeah I always get hit with every silly crap that comes up. This time I go on vacation back to the US to visit my parents over Easter and for some ridiculous reason my credit card gets blocked when I try to buy gas for filling up my rental car to return it! Lovely. Luckily my wifes German CC works so we get the car returned w/o paying extra.

I call the CC company and they ask me a buncha stupid questions that are absolutely impossible to answer for a person on the road, without Internet access, and that doesn't fit neatly into their retardedly narrow-minded scope for "security questions". So I tell her I can't answer this stuff without looking at my Online banking, which I wasn't sure that I was able to access...being on vacation and all!

This was on a Thursday. I call again Friday because I luckily had my password vault on SSD with me and could log into Online Banking, an Internet connection ready to go! Guess what? Oh we're sorry, since you couldn't answer the security questions yesterday we marked your account as "must visit bank location in person to ID themselves." WHAT!? Oh and if that wasn't enough, it was late afternoon on Friday so I wouldn't be able to ID myself in person until Monday! Lovely!

Luckily I remembered the best phrase in the world to smack any front-line CSR with: LET ME TALK TO YOUR SUPERVISOR! NOOOOOW!

I got it worked out with the supervisor by barely managing to answer a few more pretty ridiculous security questions...

Now to end this sad tale of woe on something relating to Mythic and DAoC, and of course to add insult to injury, in these 2 days that my card was blocked Mythic tried to pull my monthly subscription fees! It failed of course, my accounts were promptly suspended (I luv u 2 Mythic! ), and now I'm home and ready to play again after a 3 week break...rrright?

bzzzt! The above BS the OP described hits me square in the pants. I can now only activate 1 account every 24 hours "for my security!" of course!

Not a huge deal, but considering it takes 2 accounts to play this game I think that's pretty silly.

Funny thing is though, it actually says:

"For your security, this card can only be used twice in a 24 hour period. Please use a different card, or tr..."

However, I was only able to activate ONE account! Now during the re-activation, at least from abroad, I have to enter my CC info twice because I guess the system figures out that I don't have to pay VAT since I'm in Germany, but it doesn't figure that out until after I've already given my CC info once. So I have to fill it out again with a lower cost billing screen and no mention of VAT, and thus I guess the system thinks I've used the same card twice already! (This has always been the case btw, and I'm correctly billed only once, but this was never a problem until this artificial limit was added recently.)

Now I appreciate Mythic building in safe-guards to (maybe?) prevent the last billing fiasco that also kicked me in the nads (and led to a 6 months hiatus from the game), but as usual we need a little bit more thorough QA testing it seems!

However, on thinking it through, I really don't see how this is for my own security from anyone but Mythic billing themselves and I'm not sure that this would even kick in when the automatic billing system tries to bill me many dozens of times as it did that one day.

What exactly is the purpose of this Mythic? A CC thief surely has better things to do then bill me for a DAoC subscription multiple times in a 24 hour period!

This is why I've been using EA game cards. Any billing error doesn't actually affect my money or ability to play/activate an account.

I resubbed both accounts with the same card two months ago. And I just paid the sub for both from the same card 6 days ago. IDK why you're having a problem. I use a Debit card, not a Credit card though.

Well I think for a US resident it would be no issue. It's that damn VAT thing, it forces me to enter my CC info twice because it realizes I'm from an area that doesn't need to pay VAT. So I get a second screen with a lesser charge and have to re-enter my CC info. Then it says that I've used the same card twice in 24 hours, even though it was twice on the same account.

Seems they upped the limit from 1 to 2, unless Skrewball had the same issue as I had. They either need to fix the bug or up the limit a bit. Not only do some people play 3-4 accounts that may need re-upping, after for example the CC expires/changes, and you'll need a couple of days then to activate them all...double that for non-US players it seems.

Can you buy game time cards with CC online? I might go that route if that works...

In all the years I've played, I've never been billed more than the $14.99 per month.

Sucks to be you all I guess.

LOL. I unsubbed from War over a year ago, and I just got hit with a $500 CC charge. Good thing Visa is dealing with it.

I got hit with 6 charges the first go around.. I also took a break after my month was up, that I paid 6 times for.

After that, and finding out I could get a game time card for DAoC, I started using that.
The 2nd time, I tried to use a game card, something was messed up with my account. I could username and password in the game, and it would
come back with account closed. Like its suppose to. It then sends you to account center.. I try to log in, and it tells me the information
I've entered was invalid. I tired a few more times, and still nothing.
I called EA/BioMythic. The really nice guy on the phone answered quickly, asked for my secret word. He then said, he saw the account had been
set to 'too many login attempts' and was locked. He unlocked the account, asked what password I wanted to use, entered it into the system, and said
try it now.. Logged right in, no issues.
He then proceeded to tell me, that because of this problem, he was going to give me a $20.00 credit to be used at the EA store.
Couldn't ask for better customer service than that.
