I am not positive as I have not read any announcements from EA, but I believe the following is what has happened.
If the Cancel button does not show up, it is supposed to mean that your account is already canceled.
Evidently when account information was shifted (just this last week when billing was taken down) from Mythic to EA, the billing (credit card) information was not moved over (for security reasons). This means that account-billing info for all DAoC accounts does not exists at EA.
With no credit card/debit card/etc. . . information at EA, all of the DAoC accounts are technically set as “canceled†until the customer once again sets up billing.
Once an account is set as canceled the “Cancel†button no longer appears.
According to what I have read, your account should run to the end of whatever billing cycle you set up and then stop. If you had one month left then you have to the end of that billing cycle to keep playing. If you had a 3-month cycle with 2 months left, then you have 2 months to continue playing before your account closes.

It would be nice if EA/Bioware actually sent out emails or posted on the Herald to inform customers what is happening. I guess it is still typical Mythic (Mushroom Farmers) no matter who runs things.
