i resubbed and i just need to download the game and client.
i have limited net(8 gigs per month(thanks australia))
so im thinking of having a friend download it and put it on disc for me,
so ill be able to play sooner.
how do i install it from disk?
is it possible?
after i dl the client i had to install it into a directory,
so when it patches it has paths.
what kind of problems will i face?
im on windows 7 btw.
if i can do it, will it be difficult?
please help me with this.

I believe you will still have to download a lot of files the first time you run the patcher (multiple gigs). There have been lots of changes since those installs were created.
The best way to avoid this would be to have your friend install the game and patch on his pc and then you just copy his game folder onto your machine via an external/flash drive.

Your friend needs to download the installer from Mythic, run it, and let it install the game. Once it's fully installed and patched he should then find the installation directory and copy it to a disk for you.
It's no longer possible to install from old CDs and download patches - I tried it a few months ago too.

8gb a month is gimp even for Australian standards.

This works. Can put it on portable drive too, 8gb one should do it.
