So I am going to bite the proverbial bullet and pay for another account so I can have a bot. The question I have is what is the best way to go about setting up said account for the smoothest performance and ease of use?

I mainly want to be able to have my shammy tagging along with me and w/o switching windows would like to be able to hit a key and have it sent to the shamans client to heal me and such if this is at all possible. If not I do not mind switching back and forth however I would like to play in full screen in my main client.

My PC Setup:

AMD Phenom X4 955 Black Edition
Radeon 5850 HD 1GB
8GB DDR3 RAM
G510 Keyboard
Windows 7 x64

sending commands to inactive windows is against the TOS/EULA... and could get you banned

you can alt tab between full screen clients, but it slows things up... and could cause lag, or could cause you to apear to be laging on purpose to exploit...

best to play windowed with multiple accounts.

Ah ok, thanks for the heads up. So what is the best way to run the second client with the least amount of impact on performance?

Your PC is like 10x the recommended settings to run the game. You can load up 2 accounts easily with no set-up. Alt-tabing back and forth probably won't take much time at all either. I run a Phenom x3 8450, 4g DDR2 ram, and a ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics card, and have no issues. Only thing I did was change my client sleep setting to minimized on the bot account( Would be background if you used windowed mode). That makes the account that is in the background use less resources.

EDIT: You can find the client sleep setting under the options on the character select screen, or /clintsleep in game I think.

just use windowed mode, it sucks at first cuz it feels like you're not actually in the game, but after a little while you won't even notice it. You can alt-tab instantly when in windowed mode, it works really well.

You can also switch the /clientsleep settings, type the command you'll see what it does. you might want to type /clientsleep never if you're bot is autofollowing, then the pc will pretty much run both games at full capacity the whole time. Even if you're on an older machine you shouldn't have any problems.

Uneducated question. How do you get the second account loaded. I try to install a second version and it says I already have it installed.

Thanks.

Just start the client a second time. Fill your username/password and answer the dual log question with yes.
