Simply put, I see it all the time in relation to melee styles, and I don't know what it means. Also, CharPlan lists the growth rate of some styles, like Razor Edge for Spear, as "Special" - what does *that* mean ?

Thanks!!!

basically its the multiplier of your base damage that determines the additional style damage you get.

In other words, if a style has a growth rate of .7 and you hit someone for a base damage of 100, you will see in your combat log:

Wow, I don't even remember exactly how its written in the combat log.... ??

You perform some style perfectly (+70)
You hit for 170 damage. Is that how it works? lol

When you swing an enemy at a person it always varies in damage quite a bit, that's because the base damage always varies, however growth rate supposedly remains constant for whichever style you use. (of course I mean constant when you have the same spec/stats/equipment). This is easily testable however.

Is that like swinging a dead cat at someone but it does more damage?

This is due to the mass of any given individual player.

I hear that Americans are the best nationality to swing due to the thing about impact force being partially due to mass.

In my experience, continental Europeans are the best choice as they have have a balanced speed of 4,0. However, Left Axe users would do well to hold a Midwestern American in their left hand and an Ethiopian in their right hand to maximise attack speed without haste.

With celerity, Left Axe classes would do well to use a Briton in their left hand because they have a swing speed similar to Americans, but celerity helps bring their swing speed to optimal values.
