I have had a few level 50s, mostly played on Guinevere (old DAoC) and Gareth (Classic), without even touching most of the expansions. (The only expansion I recall participating in is SI lol).
So please, I am asking you guys for some help, I have no idea where to start. Is there some sort of guide that would help me get where I need to go in order to better my characters?
Your gear is certainly outdated beyond describing. Your first order of business will be obtaining Atlantian glass (to buy artifacts and master levels) and dragon scales. Glass can be farmed from almost any monster in the Trials of Atlantis zones, but some methods are far more efficient than others. As an old school player, you probably have a character that can salvage items (did you ever buy diamond seals and use them to purchase items in Darkness Falls, salvage the items, and then make hinges? If so, they you have a character that can salvage.) and you should instead research information about how to farm afrits in modern DAoC. The short version is that you kill monsters to get tokens, which are then redeemed for high level Trials of Atlantis loot. Most of the loot you receive is only fit for salvaging, but some are worth a lot of platinum; you can easily research which items are high value using Google. You should salvage and "trinket" the low value items.
Once you've sold or salvaged the items you gained from killing afrits, you then use your gold to purchase Atlantis glass and dragon scales, which you use to purchase artifacts, master levels, and dragon drop quality loot.
If you don't have a character that can salvage loot you acquire from farming afrits (700+ skill or so in metal working is the minimum skill), you need to use a PvE friendly character (necromancer/cabalist, enchanter/anamist, or bone dancer/spirit master) to kill monsters in the Trials of Atlantis and "epic zones" in classical Dark Age of Camelot (epic zone = zone where the dragons are found). Dragon scales can also be farmed in your realm's level 48-50 Shrouded Isles dungeon, but only Albion's Avalon City is worth mentioning; the SI dungeons for Midgard and Hibernia are unplayable due to 9 year old bugs that Mythic refuses to remedy.
Here are some crude guidelines regarding the amount of glass and dragon scales that you need to obtain:
You will need about 30.000 Atlantian glass (or about 30.000 bounty points) to purchase master levels 1 through 10. Alternatively, you can buy tokens to achieve this goal for 10-15 platinum from another player - just ask in /b in your capitol city or in a frontiers zone. You will also need approximately 8.000 glass to purchase the 2-4 artifacts that most templates require.
You'll also need to complete the quest chain that grants access to purchasing dragon scale loot (quest name depends on your realm, but you can research this with Google) and farm around 1.100 dragon scales. This 1.100 value assumes that you'll use one dragon weapon (equal to a Champion Level 5 weapon, which you can get for free after reaching Champion Level 5) and 4 pieces of armour. Most modern templates only use 2-3 dragon scale armour items, so you might be able to lower this number some.
Finally, I've neglected discussing champion levels, which you may not be familiar with. Upon logging in or reaching level 30 on a character, you might see a pop up help window describing these and telling you to see your realm's king to start them; disregard this window. At level 50, you should look for the entrance to your king's chamber (at the main castle in Camelot and Tir na Nog and inside the same chamber that has the vault keeper in Midgard - just look for guards that ask you to tell them "yes" or "no" to enter the chamber). After entering the chamber, ignore all of the other NPCs, run straight to the king, and talk to him - this will start you on earning champion level experience. To evaluate your champion level experience progress, click on your experience bar until bubbles for CL experience appear. When you've filled up all 10 bubbles, talk to the king again to start on the next champion level until you reach Champion Level 10.
With each Champion Level, you gain 1 Champion Level training point, which you can use to learn skills from base classes other than your own. To evaluate the Champion Levels skills, you should download the DAoC Character Planner (search Google for "daoc char planner" and click the first result). I will tell you that for non-healer classes, the most popular Champion Level skills are learned from the each realm's healer base class (acolyte/seer/naturalist) trainers and the best skills are magic resist buffs, melee damage resist buff, and heals. Castable disease spells from mage/seer/magician base class trainers are also popular spells.
OK this was a long post and I hope you read it all. If it wasn't clear, please ask a specific question and I'll do my best to answer it.
