A Nightshade is attacking a Warrior. Both are level 50, fully templated with the normal toys that the average template has, and stats/skills maxed. Ns is blades/cd at 50 composite and warrior is 50axe/50shield. Let's assume both are high enough rr to have maxed their dmg stats, war is mob5. In the previous round, the warrior used a style with a low penalty to defense. The nightshade just clicked on a style with a medium to-hit bonus. At the point where he begins to swing his lw adze, what calculations are made before he hits the warrior?

Bear with me, I'm on a mobile phone at work, but this is how I understand it:
Fumble check of weapon comp spec vs. Target lvl.
Miss check based on rng, modified by to-hit and defensive penalties
Block/parry/evade checks of target based on a % chance of each based on stats and ra's
Rng determines how much Ns weapon hits warrior for. This is modified by armor type resists, slash resist%, item slash resist %, armor factor on actual armor (base af buff added), quality and condition of armor, spec af buff, in that order (?).
Chance for lw to proc based on rng, dmg determined by magic resists, modified by resist buffs and secondary magic resists.
Style dmg added based on growth rate for that style, modified by same factors as base dmg.
Cd spec then kicks in to.determine if offhand swings based on % chance from.spec... if it swings, then same calcs as for mainhand.

So, where am I wrong, and what did I miss?

Well hopefully the NS does not "click" styles...Anyway I think your overreaching here, yes DAoC has alot of factors. that determine a hit/hit+crit/hit+offhand/total miss. From my experiences the RNG plays the ultimate factor when two evenly matched opponents go at it.

man, think about DAOC at work much? I guess this is when you ask the tough questions, when you're bored and have nothing else to do, and then realize you have to figure something out.

I've played on and off for 10 years, and was reminded of something yesterday that I had forgotten (base AF make sup for qua/con holes in armor), was wondering if there was anything else I was missing... and I was bored at work. 12 hour midshift goes slow at times.
