Hello,

Can my character on Ywain5 give full access to my alts on Ywain1? I have tried /housefriend account <playername> and using the owning player's name but so far I haven't had any luck. Is there any way to do this?

Thanks!

if you are on the same account, you already have full access to the house. If you are on a different account then it should be no problem. All my Hibs are on Ywain1, and I made an alt on Ywain4 to buy the house, then had to bind all of my characters from both accounts to that house. Sometimes it fails to port me to my house bind though, I don't know exactly what it is, just some characters for some reason lose the house bind, even when I repeatedly go there and bind. Other times it works no problem..

Only the actual toon whose house the name is in though can do any npc changes or house settings - e.g. house friends.. This is the case regardless they ywain server the owner is on and the alts of that account are on.

After talking with a CSR I discovered that only the owning character has permissions now. I can't even place a vault or vendor if I am not the specific owning character, nor can I use housefriend on my own account to raise those permissions. I tested it by making an alt on Ywain5 and running to the house to find that I can't do anything even with an alt on the same server. Oh, and none of the info in the manual or KB reflects this. Nice.

I have most of my characters on Ywain1 (where there are no housing lots available), and 1 or 2 on Ywain10, one of whom I bought a house for. Only the Ywain10 owning character can set up merchants etc on the house. Only my (few) chars on Ywain10 can reliably port there once bound. The rest of my characters over on Ywain1 can appear to bind in the house and all have access etc, but the bind only works some of the time, and fails periodically for no apparent reason. This makes the house *almost* useless, since the majority of time I am using the house to transfer items from a character on Ywain1 to another character on Ywain1. If I log a Ywain1 character in my Ywain10 house, when I log in again, they are on Ywain1 not 10.

Housing is completely borked to be honest. The design is badly implemented I think and some zones and locations are completely hopeless if you ever intend to sell things. Holmstrand is far too remote. It would be better if we had a teleporter that would let us jump to individual zone markets at the least, plus a Channeler to switch Ywains in each market town. It also lacks the most essential feature IMHO - the ability to pool my money between my characters so I can easily transfer money to alts.

The return tokens do permit porting to individual markets for each zone. You buy the tokens from a merchant at the entrance. You channel to the Ywain(x) that you want, run to a CM near the entrance, and hand in the token. Then you from the zone market to the house you want. It doesn't take long sinne there are hasteners and one can perma sprint with just one realm point spent. Also, if you join a guild, the guild recall stone always works.

That being said, hearth bind is broken, and it used to work. That should be fixed.

My crafters switch the merchants all the time on my house, but they are on the same server as the toon who bought the house.
