Battlemaster Essence Flames Proc Damage Question
|
Does anyone know of the essence flames proc damage is based on a stat such as strength? or perhaps base damage spec (such as more blades = more proc dmg), etc?
am toying around with a class build that would try to leverage use of essence proc damage (i know it's only 10-20% proc rate, right??)
thanks in advance

iirc weapon spec doesn't BM styles at all, it's based entirely on weapon stat

The damage proc itself is indifferent to any stat, other than spell dmg on the template. From my experience with it the proc rate is probably 10~15%.
BM styles themselves do benefit from weaponspec&weapon stat, in the same way that Wyrd specs work. The only substantial difference being that BMs style bonuses never vary.
The EF style itself adds ~120 dmg point to your cap. It will add these points, whether you're using TD at max swing speed, or a 6.0 at max swing speed or a 6.0 with a slow swing spd, which is unlike any other style line(except the PA/BS/BS2 styles from CS). In fact EF is the best anytime in terms of raw damage with a 6.0 2H at capped weaponspeed even on a 50+23 2H specced toon(though not by a lot).
It doesn't mean that you'll necessarily hit very strong with it though, as the cap is only a calculation basis(simply put, your weaponskill equals a certain percentage of your dmg cap).
I doubt it would be very useful on anything else than a warden or a savage though(instant end shout afterwards), since you have to do an EF style every 10seconds to keep the proc up, which even with the -25% end chant/buff from skald/friar/champ takes a lot of end.
I'd hate to see h2h savages using that possibility btw!
