There is a new and improved Herald. On the new Herald they do not yet have the housing search pages working and for some reason they took down the housing search pages on the old Herald before they had housing search pages working on the new Herald.
They took down everything on the old Herald. I have a feeling the server died, and the backups were non-functional (if they had any). They just don't want to admit it. Meanwhile of course, they have no one working on fixing the new one to work like the old one.
Its extremely unprofessional. Having built dozens of websites over the past few years, I can assure you the first rule when doing a revised version is to ensure that you have all (or perhaps at least 90%) of the functionality working and tested BEFORE you introduce the new version to the public. The second rule is of course to keep working backups of your site, its database etc, so that you can restore it if its damaged, hacked etc. Someone dropped the ball here, but their complete lack of effort in restoring the functionality is beyond belief, and pathetic for any gaming company who knows their website is an essential element of support for their game. Of course its EA, they don't seem to spend money on anything that doesn't directly generate a profit, and perhaps they simply haven't found some web developer they can burn out and fire yet.
