Havent played in a very long time so just going to reroll on a new account. Want to play melee but want something that I can play without a bot and without much downtime. I figured either Friar,Valk, or Warden. I had a Friar before and dont really wanna play Alb again so I guess that leaves me being either a Warden or Valk. I know Wardens kill slow as hell but arent they also hard to be killed? I also need my first character to be able to build up some plat for future characters and gear for them so being able to farm would be nice. Also no vamps, i just cant stand them. Being able to get groups is also a plus. I only listed warden and valk but id be open to other mid/hib classes as well and maybe alb.
Also in regards to RvR which realm runs more zergs? I never was any good in 8 mans. Id rather just run around with everyone else.
Basically I want the following:
1. easy solo leveling to 50 since I wont know anyone so that means no PL
2. ability to farm stuff solo and unbotted again I will be broke need plats on my own
3. wanted in groups at 50.

1. There are now buffs you can buy at different places. Soloing to 50 is easy. Going to bgs and grouping is also easy and recommended. PL is not needed.
2. Again, buffs available for all for a little coin, 120 min timer.
3. Dont play a friar.
Of those 3, with what you are saying, valk would probably be best. But I would consider warrior, berzerker as well.

Valk is a very solid choice. Good solo and grouped, wanted in groups, good survivability, medium dps (higher than Warden), good utility in groups (heals and peels). In PVE Valk can solo higher level stuff thanks to the insta hot and pbae heals. With realm buffs it's quite easy to farm PVE, albeit not at great speed.
Warden is similar to Valk and plays a similar role in a group (heals and peels again) but their dps is lower. Solo the Warden has advantage of having its own speed buff, but opponents are more likely to die of boredom or just run away from you, whereas Valk has some nice tools to pull in the kiters and interupt the casters. Warden has no interupts at range, which can be frustrating.
Valk is the better emergency healer (thanks to the insta heals) but can also heal nicely via regular casted heals. Warden is the better sustained healer but can't heal in combat.
Of the two I'd choose Valk every time.

people dont run valks outside of lol set ups like team valk. where as their proc damage on windmill? is pretty nice, its a two part chain and a savage or a zerker will out DPS them any day of the week. that and lack of stoicism hurts them when comparing them to light tanks.
out of the classes you listed, friar gets the most groups then warden. but neither are prob in the role you are looking for.
melee friars wont get groups, but rejuv friars will, and wardens aren't for tank trains they are backfield BG bots with greater heals o_O
but as stated, with the NPC buffers, any class is viable to solo grind on. especially with the aid of an endo pot. but for grouping end game, your best bets are light or heavy tanks. light will usually fill up first. but with slam being nerfed on all non heavies, i've seen them default as main assist in many groups these days.

You say no vamps, but that sounds like your ideal class (innate Buffs, charge + Banelord so wanted in groups, can solo farm pretty easily). Valk is your only other option in that regard, since they have charge, lots of ae interrupts / heals for group needs, and make great pve tanks.

Eh...kinda iffy on paladins. Only 1 ranged interrupt, groups only want them for endo / celerity / peels, and if they've got endo pots and charges then an arms can do everything you can do, only better. They also don't handle farming super well unless they are S/S, at which point groups aren't going to want you at all, and you don't have charge or stoicism, so you're very vulnerable to crowd control.
