When creating my character I did not assign any attribute points. Do I lose those points or did they auto assign?

they autoassign. But, you can go back and change them at any time. It might be a good idea to check where they were put, because sometimes the autoassigned attributes don't make sense.

on the character select screen, you can choose "customize" to change your characters appearance and adjust their attributes.
