Hey guys,

I'm running Windows 7 64bit with a Nvidia GTX580. Everytime I take ANY character into Oceanus, the game crashes to desktop, and I can no longer get to that character because every time I try to load Atlantis, the game crashes. I have been to SI and BG's and those all work, and I have yet to try any other zones to see if it will happen anywhere else. Some other things I have noticed, my character will not "move" on my screen once I have a movement buff, it looks like as if my character was lagging, and so my character stays still even though I am running; some player and NPC models seem to be folded into themselves and it almost looks like they are "planking" in mid-air. All of these things happened to me from day 1 of downloading DAOC from mythic and doing a fresh install. I've tried running the client in admin-mode, xp-compatibility, running the game on one core and I have run out of ideas as to why it isn't working for me.

To get your characters unstuck you would need to appeal and have a CSR move your characters to an area that you know will not crash the game. Use an Appeal :Stuck to get quick action. Most Appeals STUCK get priority attention.


Concerning the crashes (some WAGs):


Your TOA files may be corrupt.


Your custom UI could be causing problems in TOA. (try removing any custom UI. Not just shutting it off but temporarily move the custom folder to your desktop)


Your antivirus could be causing trouble when the antivirus scans the TOA files when the game access the TOA files. (try pausing the antivirus while playing the game or shut off the antivirus while playing)


If the game is in the /Program files folder try moving the game folder to a different folder like C: (You can move the game folder without reinstalling the game. If you move the game folder you will need to redirect the shortcuts to the location of the new game folder.)


You could have a corrupt driver. Try uninstalling, cleaning and reinstalling your graphics driver and if that does not help then reinstall all your drivers. If the reinstall says that the best driver is already installed, reinstall anyway.

So as a last ditch effort I uninstalled DAOC and then re ran the install file and re downloaded the game. And for whatever reason now it wants to work. AND to top it all off all my quickbar and visual settings were still there... So I'm guessing it was the ToA files somehow becoming corrupt from the original download...
