I really want to give this game a try and I can't get it to work. I have it installed and when I try to play it it brings up the launcher. I'm able to select a server and it brings me to a loading screen, and somewhere between 70-90% it closes. Brings me right to the desktop with no errors, messages, etc. I've tried doing as much research as possible for the past few hours and I can't figure it out. I think it's my directx, I have windows 7 which has DX11 but supposedly you need to have DX9 updated. I can't get it updated though because it says that a newer version is already installed. If someone could point me to a manual download, or one that works with DX11 installed, it would be greatly appreciated. Unless you don't think that this is the problem, I'm open to all suggestions. Thanks for the help

Never heard of anything like that. Are you sure it's DX11 that's causing the crash? When I got my new computer (very recently) I didn't have any problems.

However, I have had issues with the game installing correctly which usually gives me an issue like the one you're describing. Usually just reinstalling fixes it so I'd say try that first.

If that and the usual things like disabling your firewall, running as admin (even the patcher when you first install the game), updating your video drivers, etc. don't work then I don't know what to tell you. Somebody here has had the issue before though, so we'll get you online and playing. Sometimes old games just take a little work to get off the ground on new systems.

I'm trying to reinstall right now. I found a similar problem by someone and it seemed to be rooted in directx. It's not that DX11 crashes it, but that Windows 7 only has the minimal files for DX9, which this game requires, but I can't update to have all the required ones because my computer won't let me basically saying they are unnecessary because my current version of DX is superior, but this game doesn't even use it. If I understood correctly. But I'm reinstalling anyway, and hopefully that fixes it or someone has had a similar problem. And I've disabled my firewall, allowed through, ran as admin, ran through program files, ran in compatibility mode in just about every possible windows mode. Still nothing. So I hope this reinstall fixes it

If you install dx9c on top of dx11 the installer will only change/update the dx9 files that need updating (or the files that are missing).

If you think that dx9c is your problem, install dx9c from the Microsoft site. DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer: The Microsoft DirectX® End-User Runtime provides updates to 9.0c and previous versions of DirectX

Also, when downloading an install file, if you have already had trouble with the installed program, when you download again I would suggest that you not use any kind of download helper (like the one used in Mozilla Firefox). Some times the helpers work fine but sometimes they can mess up a checksum/file and cause trouble.

I am running DX11 on both my home comp and my laptop, had no issues installing and running the game.

Never had this problem.

I do not think it has anything to do with dx11.

Check your settings, and make sure everything is default. Also, have you tried to edit any of your folders, perhaps for a custom UI or something? If you messed something up in that regard, it may make your game unplayable.
