ive recently rolled a warrior for a tank group my guild has formed after migrating to mid.
ive looked online(maybe in the wrong places) for a warrior ra spec, but all i find is RA spec for solo play.
ive been told purge is a must have almost right away, however ive also been told that with stoicism and det at high level will make purge not so needed.

one concern i have is, should i wait to get det to high level with my realm points before anything else? or spec everything else im advised to spec including purge and respec when im high enough in RR to get my Det up there to where it needs to be?

i hope im asking this question right, because im almost confusing myself.

and yea, i need advice on what to spec in RA for a tank grp spec as well as the purg/det issue.

thanks alot in advance guys :-)

purge is nice in group setting due to their group purge shout. where as a light tank can just start pumping into det right away.

det/purge and barricade. then luxuries like aom/ip/augwhatever etc

- first step after the mandatory long wind 1 is maybe purge 2, so you can use your pbae demezz when needed (shouldn't be that often if your grp is decent, but it's nice to have anyway).

- max det is the next step

- after max det, everything should be invested in dps (crits and maybe aug str/qui, depending on race and equip) and maybe barricade at higher rr

- ip/aom etc. is a waste in fullgrps. if your support is not able to keep a warrior alive, leave grp and search a better one (or stop overextending )

I always went det before purge. Maybe purge 1 until I had det maxed. It would probably depend on your group. I didn't have to worry about my entire group being cc'd so being able to insta purge and group purge wasn't something I had to deal with. I mostly just purged Zo bracer debuffs anyway and waiting the delay wasn't going to end the world.

As the others said, after LW1, maxed Det and some level of purge it really comes down to what your group needs from you. If you are on the train mostly then dps ra's are the way to go. If you end up baby sitting a lot then things like Soldiers barricade work well.

When I was the lone tank in an all caster group and my entire job was to do nothing but peal I ran (Old RA scale) SB3 and DD2. DD in combo with high shield and parry spec and some moblock/moparry actually works very well for giving your casters a bit of breathing room when they get jumped on by a tank group. It's not just a classic server RA!!

No need to get more than purge 1 before you max Det IMO.
