I think Mythic should change the way we interact with NPC's. This includes pretty much every merchant you buy stuff from. Buffer NPC's, item vendors, artifact/BP vendors, etc.

Instead of clicking the item, and hitting buy... Or, buying the ticket/token, and then handing it to the merchant (ugh, gross)... Just make it simple, like WoW *gasp* where you right click the item and its yours, or it does what you want.

I think this would go a long way in making the game friendly to new players.

I know what you mean, but i think when they made the changes it may have been quicker and easier than writing new code. fer instance horse tickets weren't always free. So it was likely the easiest route to take and make the cost free than rewite new code

Understood.

But they have changed the code for some things, such as the hastener NPC's. They've made it so you just click them, instead of clicking them, then clicking "Haste me, baby".

I think they should do the same with Horse merchants and buff NPCs. Buffers, you should just right click -> get full buffs. The gold cost right now is inconsequential to even noobys. No reason to make people click, buy ticket, find in bags, hand to merchant (hoping you're in range), and then get the buffs. Just make them exactly like the hastener.

I would rather see more useful changes. Incentives for NF RvR, or making some similar bg's but for 50s, make it harder to gain RR so that not every group you run into is full of RR10s+, make melee more viable, or at least give people more reasons to take towers/keeps so that meleers can actually do something. Also something to discourage stealth zergs.

Yeah the hastern thing is from the lastest patch iirc and was likely factored into the new user journey thing since its included as a learning thing. the other stuff is older. but who knows maybe at some point they streamline the other stuff as well so its good to bring these things to light.

More useful changes, like making it harder to get rr 10/11?

Why, so no one can ever catch you and you don't have to worry about fair fights? Stop trolling.

Hardly trolling. As it stands now, it's very difficult to compete in groups as a low RR because all you run into is long-standing veteran high-RR groups. Maybe making it harder to gain RR's isn't the right solution, but there needs to be something done to help close that gap, and I'm not so sure even making it easier to gain RR's is the right call.

Think this through to its logical conclusion.

You want to make it HARDER for new people to get realm ranks, in order to make it more fair for new people?

Really?


The solution would be the make it easier, and to make the differences more subtle. Meaning, a rr 11 should not be god-mode, perhaps remove the +1 skill per RR, and just let the bonus RA's be the difference.

I just explained that making it more difficult to raise RR was not the right call, however, as mentioned, there needs to be a fix to the severe RR gap between new and returning players vs. veterans who just completely mow over anything that stands in their way.
