Is DAoC not far behind? With Guild Wars 2 and Dominus on the horizon, how much longer can this game last?

I'm guessing no. They seem determined to wait beyond the point that former players would care about DAOC going F2P. Otherwise it would have gone F2P already or even a long time ago back when there was more than 1 server. There would seem to be a great opportunity for a F2P DAOC right now with many PvP players disgruntled about various issues with SWTOR's PvP and the next big PvP fantasy MMO, Guild Wars 2, still many months in the future -- if only anybody at EA/Bioware/Mythic cared about DAOC.

I may go check it out but the graphics are so dated. I tried the progression server on trial and i couldnt get into the game like i used to. However, DaOC takes a pretty decent chunk out of my wallet each month having to have a bot and all. 15 dollars a month for a 10 year old game x2 is too much money in this economy, even with the new buff merchants which was too little too late. If only they would just add a pricing plan like eq just did.

Simply getting daoc to the point of 1x to play would be a huge achievement.

I loved EQ1.

If they had a classic server, or a server with xpacs up to Luclin and no further, I'd be playing.

Planes of Power and beyond just made the world feel so small and disconnected, with easy ports everywhere and instances.

They have a progression server where the players unlock the expansions however, you have to pay for that one.
