I made a thread a while back about getting this to work and finally got it.

It's a pretty lengthy process, but you'll be able to run pretty much any Windows software without logging out of OSX.

Start by following this - http://www.davidbaumgold.com/tutorials/wine-mac/

Get familiar with the cd and ls commands on this page - http://www.davidbaumgold.com/tutorials/command-line/ (cd basically controls where you are in the directory, ls list folders and applications in your current directory)

I should have kept better track of some of the problems I encountered and what I did to fix them, but it was nothing a simple google search didn't solve. If anyone has questions feel free to PM me.

A simpler solution would be to purchase VMWare Fusion, which allows you to run Windows inside a window (or full screen naturally if you want) on your Mac.

Now DAoC won't run it and neither will most games you'd want to play, I imagine because of DirectX mainly, but any sort of normal Windows app will run just fine. I haven't tried Charplan on mine, but I'm willing to bet it'll run.

Dual-boot is of course another option, which is how I run my MacBook Pro. It's about 3 years old now and runs even 2 simultaneous DAoC clients like a charm. I've also played various newer games on it at low settings, and again it ran surprisingly decent for a 3 year old laptop.
