So I haven't played DAoC since literally a few weeks after NF came out. For some reason yesterday morning, I got the urge to see what was going on, and noticed my accounts had the free 14 days, and figured I'd give it a go. By now I realize my gear on my old rvr chars is prob completely worthless, and I don't have the skill to play with the big boys, so I figured I would try the BG's as I heard cathal valley was a good time.

So any way, I started a wizzy and I'm just about cathal val level. All I have done up until now is level the wizard in battlegrounds. I know nothing about champion levels stuff, anything in any expansions past ToA, I have no idea how artifacts work anymore, and I've only been using the BG BP gear. So if I want to play my wizard at level 49 in CV, what do I need to do?

What gear do I need to acquire in order to be competitive in CV at 49 on a wizard, and how do I go about getting it? Also, if you have any spec/realm ability suggestions please send those my way as well. It feels great to be back, and I've had a really good time so far just leveling up and getting a few fights in, but I'm totally lost. Do people still SC gear even? The fact that you level up so fast in the BG's has taken away a lot of the game's learning, so I'm already a high level and have no idea what's going on haha!

Don't worry about CLs, you have to be 50 to start them. You can be up to 49.5/ML5/RR4L9. You can use any artifacts, crafted gear, and any item that's bonus level 49 or lower. Look up the dragon for your realm on allakhazam and check the droplist. You should be able to throw together a cheap template and be competitive for less than 20 plat, especially on a wiz.
