Help a new player? Can't 1v1

Hi guys,
I'm new to DAoC I've just got to 49, I seem to be having a very hard time fighting 1on1 my gears seems fine [bp stuff] basically when I fight I just autostick and fight straight up, however my opponent dances around me, I was wondering if any of you could give me some tips on dancing or how to counter it. any links to a guide on how to do it would great.

There are no arena's in DAoC, if you are having problems dueling someone in your realm; you gonna get real frustrated in RvR...lol

no, bp gear is not good enough. especially at a higher level like in CV.
don't autostick them that will fail when they run through you. try to keep them in front of you, and use /face right before you swing your weapon, while trying to run through them when they are about to swing their weapon at you.

/Face is A fail as well  , Walk Backwards and use Mouse to pan Camera so that you can always have them in front of you and don't let them get any reactionary styles on you !

Now if you really were a noob asking this question, I'd say forget trying to solo. You don't know enough about anything to be jumping in the deep end.

Watch DAoC solo videos. Start as far back as you can find and work your way forward.
