Please Welcome Dark Age of Camelot's new expansion: Master of the Wards! We here are Bioware Mythic would like to introduce to you something we have been working on for quite a while. While all of this information is subject to change, we wanted to break this news with a bang! This expansion will feature 3 all new concept classes, and 2 additional races for each realm. The races will not be released until a later point in time (we have to keep some secrets after all!), please keep an eye on the Herald!
Albion:
Battle Magus
Abilities: Specialized in x-over-Time spells and Stacking
Armor: Studded
Weapon: Two-Handed
Specializations
Fire drain: Immolation spec line will have heat-based DoT spells that can stack with each other for a larger effect, and returns a portion of health to the caster.
Two-Handed: Albions two-handed weapon specialization will be open to the Battle Magus. Baseline single handed weapon spec will not be granted, their damage is meant to be varied. However they will sport a melee tank damage table.
Restoration: Restoration spec line will have HoT based spells that can stack with each other for a larger effect.
Wards: Wards spec line will have an ablative based spell line at the expense of the health of the caster. You can stack the wards to increase effectiveness
RR5: Rain of Fire
Hibernia:
Battlemage
Abilities: Specialized in Area-of-Effect pulsing spells and Instants
Armor: Scale
Weapon: Celtic Spear
Specializations
Spirit Tapping: Spirit tapping will have spirit-based AoE spells that damage and return a portion of health to the caster. The damage will be low, however the range of the radius is large.
Celtic Spear: The Battlemage will have access to Hibernia’s celtic spear weapon line. They will however sport a hybrid damage table.
Rain of the Forest: This spec line will have AoE healing spells that will be low in value, instant, and high in radius.
Wards: Wards for the Battlemage will be an AoE cast spell that shields friends from harmful magic or melee. These will be both low in value/abs and have a large radius. Also at the expense of the casters health
RR5: Monsoon
Midgard:
Battle Magi
Abilities: Specialized in Direct spells
Armor: Leather
Weapon: Spear
Specializations
Energy of the Gods: Single target spells that will effect enemy players upon being hit. These spells will range from direct damage to debuffs. Direct damage effects will return a portion of the casters health.
Spear: The Battle Magi of Midgard will sport a spear for a weapon. The damage table this class is put on is to be determined. Speculations are that it will be on the melee tank damage table for it's lack of armor.
Augmentations: This specialization will have a few spells among it. Including spells that will directly effect the damage output of a realm mate, both melee and magic. Only three augmentations will be able to be applied at a time. Group specific augmentations will be lower in value.
Wards: The wards of the Battle Magi will provide barriers to realm mates. This could be ablatives to direct heals only effecting a single target at a time. These spells will cost a portion of the Battle Magi's health to cast.
All three classes will be able to die from overuse of their wards. Each ward cast places a buff (or debuff if you will) that will raise the health cost of all further cast wards within a certain time period. However while this buff remains on the caster, the effectiveness of the wards will exponentially rise.
We look forward to sending out some beta invites! Please keep an eye on the herald! ~Stuart Zissu
