So right now I'm using the 1P chestnut horse bought in the throne room at level 45 and CL0.

It is considered an "advanced mount."

Is there any benefit, more speed or otherwise, to paying more for another horse other than simply appearance?

I'm currently CL5, so I do have the epic mount vouchers available, but if it's just for looks, I'm not wasting 15p on it.

The 1p horse has the same functionality as the 15p horse.


Get yourself some barding and save on the looks of the horse. Barding in guild colours can look pretty cool.

I went for the 3P black war horse because frankly that was pretty cheap for

my main toon. I still have the PVE mount on a lot of my characters since it

was free and only can't be used in the frontiers.


I think you can even get the free pve horse now in the quest hubs around level

I was under the impreesion there was a speed increase and i felt like it was noticeable. But idk, never tested it, still dont care a huge amount.

Also the free PVE/BG horse runs slower then the 1p - 15p horses. But the RVR horses run faster then secondary speed classes.

Speeds are Bard/Min/Skald, then 1p horse, then secondary casted speed - Hastener, then PVE/BG horse, in that order.
