I saw a preview of that and it just looked like another Cloverfield style thing where you never see the monster.

It's JJ Abrams making an 80's Spielberg movie. Spielberg is producing, and he always shows his monsters/aliens. Abrams likes to keep a level of secrecy until his movies or shows are out, so he hasn't shown the creature yet. I wouldn't worry too much about it staying hidden.

Uh...the previews are absolutely freaky imo. And they show enough in the previews that I would be pretty sure you get to see it. Still not sure if want to see it or not.
