In a hole, in the ground, there lived a hobbit...

Kinda interesting they had to rebuild everything from LOTR. And hard to believe it's been 12 years since that production started.

It's such a waste to be wasted in the first place
I wanna taste the taste of being face to face with common grace
To meditate on the warmest dream
And when I walk alone, I listen to our secret theme

It's been exciting following the work they've done already. I've been seeing the special screenings of the extended editions in the theaters the past 2 weeks, it has been nothing less then awesome! Definitely is getting me even more excited to see The Hobbit

I hope they kept some of Guillermo Del Toro's early work for the final product. I was so disappointed when he had to drop out because of the MGM bankruptcy delaying this for too long. Oh well, Pacific Rim is shaping up to be awesome.

But yeah Jackson should handle this just fine and it should be fantastic.

I am thrilled that PJ is directing over Del Toro, personally

Jackson's movies tend to be overlong. While I understand he's staying pure to the source with the LotR movies, look at King Kong. He also tends to take a much more realistic approach that, while it worked well for LotR with its focus on armies of humanoid creatures in keep sieges mostly, I feel is inappropriate for the much more magical Hobbit.

Del Toro's are focused and well edited and have much more visual flair. He is the perfect director for basically any fantasy film. Pan's and the Hellboy movies prove this. I'd love to see what Del Toro could do with WETA animators and a real budget behind him.
