Went through and deleted and uninstalled a bunch of old files and programs. Now my sound doesn't work. I did not touch a single thing that had to do with sound however. So I have no clue...I'm not muted, I've checked drivers, made sure my headset is plugged in, unplugged and replugged. I have no clue what to check next. No sound on any program works.

Ideas?

Drivers can be really retarded and not work even though you know you've done everything right. first step, go to the manufacturer's website and download/reinstall the drivers.

My question is what sort of stuff did you delete?

Welll I was trying to isntall MoP beta and I didn't have enough room on my 120 GB hard drive...amazing huh? So I deleted Cata beta, Rift beta, WAR, AION, stuff like that and a buch of a stationary programs that I never use.

I'm discovering it's a problem with my headset since I tested out my other heaphones and they work fine. I have a Logitch H800 (love it!) that's been great so I've reinstalled all the stuff direct from Logitech and I'm going through their trouble shooting process atm.

K, apartly tons of people have probs with this particualr headset, i've loved it, until now. Only piece of advice that I can find that I havent' tried is "check your USB controllers". No idea how to do that.

Anyone?

You could always system restore to before the deleting, and be more selective this time.

Or consult the computer gnomes for help.

is it set to the default device, and/or are other sound devices enabled, in the control panel?

I guess the headset simply has issues, that particular model.

I unplugged it, removed the reciever, set my old thingy as the defualt device, rebooted the computer and waited and hour. Works perfect agian.
