I get this error.
Can't open the data files. Check that they exist and that you have permission to write to them. The program will now exit.
I think I used to get this when I had not changed paths. Now it happens whether I let Polling change my path or do it manually.

I didn't even have to update it for it work with with the current patch actually, check Drakiers forums and see if someoen else has asked this and gotten an answer there, posts here go *poof* over time

I was able to get it working. I copied over the Portal and Cell.dat files and it was ready to go.

posts don't go poof... people just don't change the dates they are searching.
It defaults to posts in the last 30 days... most of the posts that have any meaning are a lot older than 30 days.

Drakier, I was imprecise, VN posts go *poof* over time, they have to with the sheer volume even with storage costs this low, they may store them offline, I don't know if they do or not.
I was trying to direct the OP to your forums where posts hang around as long as YOU wish them to.

I had this same problem, and couldn't get the fixes to work.
I am only doing two accounts, and all I do now is start up Dual Log, then use the /2 directory to start up my initial client, then use the default directory to start up the second client. Works for me...

Maglett is correct. Pruning is done once a day. I believe the basic rule (all rules have exceptions) is that thread that has no activity for eight months are deleted.

Aaah.. sorry.. my bad.
I thought you were referring to my forums and that my posts go *poof*.
you are correct in that the VNBoards posts go poof. Mine stay around for ... ever as far as I know.
Just some people have trouble finding the posts on my forums because they don't use the proper searching dates... but yes.. the answers to most ACDualClient problems and questions can be found on my forum with the proper search.. and all other questions that can't be found can be assisted if asked.
