I can't get into game with Decal, everytime i attempt to enter it crashes. I've uninstalled and reinstalled. Anyone know what I might do to get it running

Well first make sure you can log into AC without decal running, then see if you can log in with decal on but ALL plugins turned off. Then post what the results of those 2 tests were and post a decal export. Tell us exactly where in the process of logging in you crash, and if there's any error messages that come up when you crash, you should post everything they say.


Figuring out what is wrong requires a lot of information.

I can get in with all plugins turned off

Ok, well you've got at least 2 seperate problems.


Problem #1 is that you have an 8MB video card. The minimum that Turbine says you need just to run AC is 32MB, with 128MB recommended. You pretty much need a 128MB video card to run AC WITH Decal and not have problems. The current version of Decal is still officialy an Alpha version, and one of it's biggest problems is that it uses a lot of video memory. I think you'll have serious problems trying to run Decal until you get a better card. I'm not sure how you can even run AC with the card you have. Assuming you get a better card, then:


Problem #2 is that many of the plugins you have installed are outdated and don't work with ToD. The only working plugins for Decal these days can be found here: http://acheaven.buwahaha.com/

Select "decal plugin index" from the menu on the left. The plugins that are marked "Decal Alpha 6" are the ones that work. Some of the older ones marked "Decal Alpha 5" may work, but you should check the list here http://forums.acdev.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4107 before you install. If the author didn't post that their plugin still worked for Alpha 6, then it probably doesn't.


The plugins you have installed which ARE working look like they are outdated versions. You need to unistall all of your plugins and download the current versions of the ones that work from the ACHeaven site and install them. Before you install them go here: http://www.decaldev.com/Requirements/tabid/73/Default.aspx and check the "requirements" link at the top of the page and make sure you have everything installed that is needed for decal. If you don't, you'll have to do a "clean install" of decal according to the directions here http://forums.acdev.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3445 Then you can install the plugins. Then follow the same process as before. Make sure you can log in without Decal, then log in with Decal on but no plugins, then try it with one plugin at a time. Try to run the fewest number of plugins at a time that you can.

EVERY plugin i see listed is ehter a Dead on arrival of ToD upgrade or is very outdated.


eltank , combater 2, muletradiet, alcino are upgradeable rest are pretty much history not working (from my quick glance)
