I have two computers ran through one router. The firewall on the router and comps is turned off. Now when I try to login no matter what the port settings, auto port, auto detect is set on it will boot one of the computers. I've tried setting one set of ports to 9000, the other to 9040 and the same thing happens. Any suggestions would be greatley appreciated.

and if you only have 2 accounts with 2 computers, you dont need dual log, unless you can only use 1 computer.

Had that happen to me as well. I remember changing port settings in the past and it worked but not this time.

This sounds like the same issue I had when I first installed TOD. My router had trouble separating the transmissions going back to the computer. You will need to search the Turbine forums as I cannot remember the exact line you need to modify. What you are looking for is a setting line in the Asheron's Call TOD folder created in My Documents. You will set the port to 9001, 9002, 9003, 9004 etc. depending on how many computers you have running at one time (in my case 4). The game will then only use that port to access AC on that computer.

Hope this helps!

Jasonhartleytx, thanks for the info. That is what I tried before and it still didn't work for me.

Here is the link I used and I believe you are talking about:

edit: To clarify, I tried the above method while using Dual Client and was not able to stay logged in on two computers. I did not try changing ports and manually logging in without using Dual Client.

make sure Auto-Port is on, as well as Polling enabled and set at a 2 or 3 second polling timer

set computer1 to have SPort 9000 and EPort 9025

set computer2 to have SPort 9030 and EPort 9055

that basically does the manual steps above. It automatically changes the ports in the ini file to be the ports that it "auto-selects" which are in the ranges listed above (if you've configured it correctly).

If you're unsure what port it "thinks" it's using, run the WhereAC tool, and it should list which port it is configured to use.

At that point, it should all work correctly barring any network/equipment issues.

Each computer should show a different port in the WhereAC tool.

That worked like a charm Drakier, thank you VERY much!

I don't believe this is in your FAQ on your site? It could prove useful to others perhaps.

Thanks again!
