Am I crazy or did I read that you can share detection settings between characters with Alinco now?
It's driving me nuts that there are no default detections (or incomplete ones) for creatures in particular. I mean, Aun Ralirea and Hea Temenua had to be input manually, on each character.
Shouldn't there be a standardized list of creatures already imbedded?
Shouldn't notifications that ARE input manually on one character be shared with all others?
Is this implemented already and I'm just missing it?

currently stuff set for salvage is shared, trophy mobs are set per individual

Ah it was just the salvage that got shared.
Drat.
Does anyone know if you can edit the files from out of game?

All you have to do is copy the xml file to the new Character name and all is well for example
copy First_Character.xml Second_Character.xml
The files are located in your My Documents\Decal Plugins\ directory.
Be aware that they will become more independent as time goes on.

It does make life easier.
I have a character that I play most and use the profile from him as the prototype for all characters.
When I go play another character, I copy the file from my primary player, even if I have copied it before to get the updated version.

Unfortunately, when you have upwards of 40 characters, this can get a little tedious.
Oh, well....time to see if I can install perl on vista and create a script.
Edit: You know, I'd quote the above text better if I could get quoting to work.

A simple bat file will do this copy for you. Just create a text file named. Alin.bat and fill it with lines similar to the following
copy master_profile.xml character_profile.xml
if you have 40 character then you have 39 lines...
