OK, so maybe its not a secret that the fastest way to spawn one is to go where there are LOTs of bunnies.

Seriously, though, how many people know that ********* ****** has the highest concentration of both bunnies and Hulking Bunny spawns? Of course the people who are first to try new content know and there are a few people who know where most things spawn. The average player may think they know, but do they? There's only one way to know for sure...

Check out the mob spawn maps!

Just download and install Mob Tracker. Use either the plugin in game OR use the separate map viewer that comes with the install. Check out the Hulking Bunny map and you'll know right where to go without having to sound like a n00b in CG!

Theres even a page at the web site that lists every dungeon a mob has been detected in! Theres just one problem, though. In order to know which dungeon they are in, I need the Dungeon ID's mapped to a dungeon name.

***This is where I need your help!***

At http://mobtracker.yewsplugins.com/html/mob_dungeons.html , you will see a form that allows you to submit unknown dungeon ID information to improve the mob-mapping. There is a link to all unknown dungeon IDs there as well. Next time you are in a dungeon(even a house dungeon) that you think might not be mapped, just have a look and see if the dungeon ID (the site tells you how to get it) is in the unknown ID list and if it is, please submit it. I'll even post 2500 tracker points to the character who first submits a verified dungeon!

Now for some stats:

Mob Spawns reported: 16.6 million

Unique Mob/Location pairs: 3.6 million

Total # of mobs: 1661

Dungeons Reported: 1177

Non-Anonymous Trackers: 1594

The more data we get, the better the maps are, so I encourage everyone to use the plugin. Its very lightweight and doesnt cause much system or bandwidth strain, and it runs alongside all other plugins without interference. I'd like to see some strain on my server from all the data coming in. Right now, its not even breaking a sweat. I'm betting it can handle *EVERY* AC player sending data simultaneously. Bring it on!

FYI: I'm working on the map format somewhat. They now show spawns in much finer detail once there are a significant number of reported sightings. Maps update each night but only those that report new locations get updated.

might this submission form be added to the plugin at some point? possibly even automated to some extent?

after the initial influx, it might prove easier or at least more likely to gather submissions.

maybe at the very least have the plugin say when it hasnt recorded the current location, and suggest adding it at the website?

i believe you can tell when you are 'inside' as opposed to 'outside'... though i dont remember how, nor who said it (akilla, maybe?) it hasnt been brought up in a while, to my knowledge... maybe it was when the MiniMap plugin was made by Thorfinn_Sigurdssen (vn board name)

just some ideas to think about if/when you get a-round-tuit

Thanks Immortal, are the white bunnies still spawning as well? I took Yew's advice and I found the hulking bunnie eventually but the white did not spawn afterwards?

Entilzah_WE,

Unknown dungeon identification and dungeon info submission will be part of the next release, as will mob dungeon spawns (i.e. Somehow I'll show the top X dungeons that a mob has spawned in as well as the map).

" i believe you can tell when you are 'inside' as opposed to 'outside'... though i dont remember how, nor who said it"

Yeah, I read all the threads on that and believe it or not, its already in the plugin. That's how I know whether or not to send the dungeon ID along with the mob spawn data. That's the upside. The downside is, none of those methods discussed actually work. They all fail in certain dungeons or outdoor buildings. The best I could do is create a 1-bit depth map of Dereth and mask out all the land areas and then use that for my detection. This still doesnt work for in-ground dungeons like the low level mukkir nest and I have found no method that does. Anyways, I digress. The fact is, detection and submission will be in the next release.

As a side note for those who happen to read this thread, I have a new version of the offline map viewer that will be included in the next release. It uses MASSIVE maps (2048x2048 native resolution) and has scroll and zoom capability as well the ability to hide the terrain map to better see the spawn points. It also uses a color pattern to give indication of the actual frequency of the spawns at a location. It progresses from dark red, to red, to bright yellow for the places where lots of occurances of spawns have been detected. You can check it out in advance at:

http:/mobtracker.yewsplugins.com/MobSpawnViewer.exe

Note: This is a direct no-install runable .Net 2.0 EXE There are no viruses or anything in it, but it IS an executable.

Enjoy and send feedback to yew@yewsplugins.com

The map HUD won't load for me.

Is this a known issue?

There are no known issues with the plugin, but some firewalls and similar things can block the maps from being loaded (they grab the map data live from the mobtracker website every time you pick a mob to display).

Make sure you have the map turned on (use the /MOB MAP command or check the option) and that you pick a creature from the mob list. The map wont actually appear until you pick something to show.

Try the included spawn map viewer and see if you have similar problems(They use the same maps, but the standalone version doesnt need a Direct X surface, which may indicate you are very low on video memory). You can use /MOB SMALLMAP command in game if this is the case.

You can also PM me with your ErrorLog.txt file from the plugin directory and I can check if anything unusual shows up in it.
